Travel Tips for Foreign Tourists During Hanoi Road Closures

Use Public Transportation

With many streets closed, it’s easiest to travel by bus, metro (where available), or walking in downtown Hanoi.

Stay Updated

Check hotel notices or local news for any changes to street closures or traffic schedules.

Plan Your Sightseeing

If you’re visiting areas like Ba Dinh Square, Sword Lake, or the Old Quarter, give yourself extra time to reach your destination.

Avoid Restricted Roads

Follow signs and local authority instructions. Trying to drive on closed streets can result in fines or delays.

Prepare for Crowds

Even if your focus isn’t the parade, streets around downtown Hanoi will be busy with locals and tourists attending rehearsals and cultural events.
